A Vision For The Future
I am a constitutional conservative. I enjoy the intricate puzzle of constitutional, statutory, and procedural issues involved in the practice of law. I consider the facts of a case, identify the issues, and deduce how the law applies to those facts.
A judge must engage in the cautious balancing act necessary to protect society from lawlessness while ensuring that our individual liberties are safeguarded. Trial judges should not create laws.
The legislature enacts laws, and the executive branch enforces them. The judicial branch should apply the laws to the facts of a given case and render a decision based upon the law as enacted by the legislature and interpreted by the appellate courts.
As an attorney, my duty is to advocate for the interests of my clients. A judge is a public servant uniquely charged with the responsibility of fairly applying the laws that govern us.
I want to serve as an impartial advocate, not for any one position, but for justice and the rule of law. I believe that my diverse experience in both criminal and civil law will allow me to view all sides of an issue impartially and make a decision based solely on the law.
The Experienced Conservative
I have appeared before more than one hundred judges in at least twenty-eight counties across this state regarding criminal, civil, family law, probate, and juvenile matters.
My practice regularly takes me from the busiest courtrooms in Nashville to the most rural courthouses imaginable, and everywhere in between.
